Qld mum's accused murderer in court

A man has faced court charged with the murder of Brisbane mother-of-two Danielle Miller.

Robert Graham Thomas, 49, appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday, charged with one count of murder and six counts of stealing.

Thomas sat quietly in the dock with his arms folded and did not enter a plea.

His lawyer Tom Gardiner requested the case be adjourned and Magistrate Tina Previtera remanded Thomas in custody until his next court date on December 7.

Thomas, of Annerley, allegedly strangled 44-year-old Ms Miller at her Greenslopes home and stole her credit cards.

Ms Miller was found dead at the residence on Saturday, but police believe she may have been killed as early as last Thursday.

Thomas was taken into custody on Wednesday morning after detectives found him buying fish and chips at Coorparoo.

Police say Thomas and Ms Miller had known each other, and that public information and CCTV footage were instrumental in catching him.

Text messages are also expected to be among the evidence in the case.

Thomas was known to police and hadn't been home in the past few days, possibly to avoid authorities, police said.

A number of items of interest were also found after SES volunteers scoured the street earlier this week.

On Monday investigators appeared to find something of interest in a large skip bin at a construction site across the road from Ms Miller's house.
