Qld MPs 'lining up' to sue me: Jones

Broadcaster Alan Jones says Queensland MPs are "lining up" to sue him for defamation but insists he won't be intimidated by bullies.

Jones last week revealed Premier Campbell Newman and Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney had flagged, via court documents, impending defamation action over comments made on an election special on Fairfax Radio's 4BC.

The broadcaster said Mr Newman visited his home prior to the 2012 state election to promise there would be no Acland stage three coal mine, on Queensland's Darling Downs.

After the Liberal National Party (LNP) won power the development proceeded and Jones has questioned whether donations from mining companies influenced the decision.

"It appears as though every minister in the Newman government who has the number of a lawyer is suing me for something," he told listeners on Tuesday morning.

The list included Mr Newman, Mr Seeney, Health Minister Lawrence Springborg and Nanango MP Deb Frecklington, he said.

"All of this, of course, is proof of panic," Jones said.

"The Newman government has been found out and under pressure this is the only response they can come up with."

Doing little to stave off the lawyers, Jones again demanded the LNP reveal details about donations and royalties for mining company New Hope Coal.

"The public of Queensland are entitled to know these amounts, they're entitled to know the real royalty figures," he said.

"Bullying and intimidation might be the thing you know best, but Mr Newman, it doesn't work with me."

Jones also criticised the party for stating that election promises would only be guaranteed in electorates where LNP members were elected.

"Totalitarianism has come to town," he said.
