Qld MP cleared of moonlighting as nurse

A Queensland MP accused of moonlighting as a nurse has accused Health Minister Cameron Dick of a politically-motivated attack after she was cleared of any wrongdoing.

Mudgeeraba MP Ros Bates, a former nurse, told parliament on Tuesday she received a letter from the health ombudsman last month advising her she didn't breach her medical registration by last year shadowing clinical teams at two Gold Coast hospitals.

"He (Mr Dick) shamefully launched a politically-motivated personal attack on my credibility as a registered nurse of over 30 years after I visited ... hospitals as a member of parliament," Ms Bates said.

She has already written to Speaker Peter Wellington asking him to refer Mr Dick to parliament's ethics committee.
