Qld man stabbed after daycare incident

A man has been stabbed three times after confronting a trio who stole his unlocked car from outside a daycare centre.

It's believed the 28-year-old man was collecting his child from the centre at Brassall, near Ipswich, about 5.10pm on Monday when the three men approached the car, with one driving it a short distance away.

The man was stabbed when he later confronted the three men, who police say were known to him.

He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition, while an 18-year-old man will face the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Tuesday on a charge of wounding.

Police could not say if a child was present when the stabbing occurred.
