Qld man 'spat blood and bit police'

Two Queensland police officers will undergo disease testing after a man allegedly headbutted and spat blood at them at a hospital north of Brisbane.

The officers were escorting the 34-year-old out of the Hervey Bay Hospital about 4am on Saturday when he lashed out.

He allegedly headbutted a 22-year-old constable, who then required stitches.

While he was in custody, the man is accused of spitting blood at a senior constable.

Both officers will undergo disease testing.

The man is also said to have bitten another constable on the hand and tried to kick a fourth officer while in custody.

He will appear in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Monday.
