Qld man sets woman's home on fire: police
A Queensland woman has escaped unharmed after a man broke into her house, threatened her and then set fire to the home, police say.
It is alleged the man forcefully entered the home in Burpengary on Monday afternoon and threatened the woman inside before using an accelerant to set fire to the house.
Police said the 22-year-old man, who fled the scene carrying a knife, was caught by officers a short time later.
The home and a vehicle were seriously damaged by the fire but no one was injured.
The Kallangur man was charged with one count each of arson, wilful damage, assault or obstruct police, breach of bail condition and contravene direction.
He was also charged with four counts of going armed so as to cause fear, police said.
He is due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
