A Queensland man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court over an alleged crime spree that included two carjackings at gunpoint.

Ben Andrew Goring, 24, was arrested in dramatic fashion at Numinbah Valley, in the Gold Coast hinterland, late on Sunday after he and another man allegedly stole the cars of two Gold Coast residents at gunpoint at the weekend.

He appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday on a string of charges - including attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, robbery, stealing and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle - and was remanded in custody until September 22.
