Qld man questioned over body in house

A man is helping police with inquiries after he drove to hospital and told them a man was dead in a far north Queensland house.

The man told authorities about the death about 2pm (AEST) on Sunday, police said.

Officers arrived at a house just north of Ingham to find a 47-year-old man's body in the downstairs area.

Police say it's not clear whether the deceased man had lived at the property.

The man who alerted police to the body is being questioned.

A car, believed to be his, has been impounded from the hospital.
