Qld man hospitalised after fall from roof

A Gold Coast man has been seriously injured after a five-metre fall while taking a shortcut on his way home.

The man was walking home with friends in Upper Coomera when he fell down a retaining wall around 3am on Friday, hitting his head on the concrete below.

ABC Radio has reported the man, believed to be 23, had jumped from a warehouse roof to a neighbouring property.

It took emergency crews an hour to rescue him, and he was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition with head and chest injuries.
