Qld man faces 600 drug, fraud charges
A far north Queensland man is facing more than 600 drug and fraud charges after allegedly trafficking prescription drugs he obtained by pretending to be another man.
The 31-year-old from Innisfail, south of Cairns, was arrested at his home on Tuesday following a joint investigation by local police and officers from the Health Medicines Regulation and Quality Unit.
Police allege he assumed the identity of another man to get hold of prescription drugs, including morphine-based painkiller Oxycodone, which he sold to others between 2011 and 2014.
The unnamed man will face Innisfail Magistrates Court later on Tuesday on more than 600 charges including falsely representing self to be another person, fraud, drug possession and trafficking.
