Qld man critical after ute hits truck

A man is fighting for his life in hospital after his ute hit a parked truck on the Gold Coast.

Police say the 33-year-old man's utility was travelling north on Pacific motorway at Helensvale around 2:30am when it collided with a parked prime mover and trailer that had its hazard lights on.

The man is in a critical condition in the Gold Coast University Hospital while the truck driver is helping police with their inquiries.
