Qld man charged over backpack bomb hoax

A man had to be subdued with a Taser after telling staff at a Brisbane pharmacy he was carrying a bomb in his backpack.

Police used the weapon on the 49-year-old man after being called to the Annerley chemist on Sunday about 9.45pm.

No explosive device was found in his backpack, which only contained personal items.

The man was charged with one count of making a bomb hoax and will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
