A Queensland man has surrendered to police after a nine-hour siege in which a woman officer was assaulted and dragged into a room.

The 42-year-old man allegedly dragged a female officer into a room when police responded to reports of a disturbance at a property in Ipswich, west of Brisbane, about 11.30am on Friday.

A second officer used capsicum spray and was able to force open the door, and pull the first officer into a corridor.

The man was tasered as he tried to attack the officer again, and then locked himself in the room.

A woman who had been in the room at the time was released a short time later.

Negotiations continued until the man gave himself up at about 8.45pm.

The Raceview man is expected to appear at the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Saturday, facing charges including assaulting a police officer.

The female officer received treatment for injuries to her arm.
