Qld man allegedly drives over baby graves

A man has been charged after a car was driven over graves at a cemetery in northern Queensland.

The 41-year-old man allegedly drove over several lawn graves and plaques in the baby section of the Edmonton Lawn Cemetery over the weekend.

The Bentley Park man was arrested on Wednesday and has been charged with one count each of wilful damage and driving while disqualified.

He is expected to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on September 18.
