Qld man, 84, bashed unconscious for wallet

An elderly man is recovering in hospital after being bashed unconscious and robbed while using a public toilet in Brisbane.

The 84-year-old was attacked and relieved of his wallet and watch at a Chermside shopping centre restroom on Wednesday afternoon, Queensland police say.

He was found unconscious and taken to a Brisbane hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives have released an image and footage of a man they want to speak to in relation to the assault.
