Qld hammer murderer lodges appeal

A man sentenced to life in prison for murdering a drug associate with a hammer has lodged an appeal against his conviction.
A Supreme Court jury last month found 39-year-old Hamish Stewart Murray guilty of the Cairns bashing murder of Nicholas Collins in 2012.
A hearing date is yet to be set for his appeal, which has been lodged in Brisbane's Court of Appeal.
