Qld gun, drug smuggling operation busted

An interstate gun and drug smuggling operation has been smashed by police in southern Queensland following an 18-month investigation.
Detectives charged eight people in the Toowoomba district with 43 offences related to the theft of guns from rural properties and the trafficking of the weapons and drugs.
Explosives, firearms, drug supply equipment and dangerous drugs, including ice, were seized during the raids of 10 properties, police said on Monday.
