Queensland's government wants to make it easier for miners to get on with their projects by simplifying the state's mine tenure system.

Natural Resources and Mines Minister Anthony Lynham has released a policy paper with proposals to modernise the state's complex system of resource permits, authorities, leases and licenses.

"This is the first time in Queensland a comprehensive review of the whole resources tenure system has been undertaken and it will have real benefits for miners, explorers and landholders," Dr Lynham said on Friday.
