Qld firies to get quicker cancer compo

Queensland firefighters will access compensation for cancers related to their work more easily under proposed laws.
Treasurer Curtis Pitt says laws introduced to parliament on Thursday will deem firefighters who develop one of 12 specific cancers and have been serving for a set period as eligible for compensation.
"This means they will get access to their compensation benefits in a more timely fashion," he said in a statement.
