Qld cyclones unlikely for Christmas

Despite a monsoon trough moving close to northern Australia, Queensland is unlikely to be hit by a cyclone over Christmas.

The Bureau of Meteorology's three-day cyclone outlook has Queensland at a very low risk of cyclone activity.

But forecasters warn that the seasonal outlook is slightly above average and conditions can change quickly.
