Qld cop suspended amid crim dating reports

A Cairns police officer with reported romantic links to an accused drug dealer has been suspended from duties.

Cristina Cidade, who appeared on the Network Ten police reality television show Recruits in 2009, has been suspended for failing to resolve a conflict of interest and inappropriately accessing confidential information on a computer system.

News Corp reports the constable is dating accused drug supplier Kayle McElwee and the pair met when he was in watchhouse custody.

Police say the 33-year-old has been suspended from all official duties.
