Qld cop dismissed over assault allegations

A constable from southern Queensland charged with assault and wilful damage has been dismissed from the police following a lengthy internal investigation.

The 43-year-old man was suspended from duty in April 2016 over the assault allegations, which resulted from an off-duty incident, police said.

Police were unable to confirm if the officer was due to face court, or provide further details of the allegations.
