The family at the centre of a shocking double homicide in far north Queensland has thanked the community for its support in the wake of the tragedy.
Manjinder Ghuman died on Monday, allegedly at the hands of her 43-year-old husband Balwinder Singh Ghuman who is also accused of murdering his mother-in-law, Sukhwinder, attempting to kill his father-in-law and wounding his 17-year-old daughter during the attack at a Gordonvale house.
In a statement released by Queensland police, the family thanked the community but also requested privacy while they "try to come to terms with the enormity of the situation and grieve in private".
