Police are no longer investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a load of coal on a train at the Port of Brisbane.

The man's body was found on Wednesday when workers were unloading about 50 tonnes of a coal from a wagon which was part of a train that had from the Cameby Downs mine near Chinchilla, about 300km northwest of Brisbane.

Initially police were looking at whether the death was the result of misadventure.
