Qld 'bikie' hit with 31 more charges

An alleged Hells Angels bikie, who is already in custody over a drug trafficking ring, has been slapped with 31 more charges by Queensland's corruption watchdog.

Vadim Victor Volkov, 33, was arrested on August 5 after police from the state's anti-bikie task force allegedly discovered more than $1 million in cash, a stash of guns, ice, steroids and fake drivers licences during a series of raids across southeast Queensland.

The state's Crime and Corruption Commission on Thursday revealed it was also involved in the sting, but couldn't previously say due to operational reasons.

On Wednesday, the CCC laid 31 additional charges against Volkov, including drug trafficking and supply, and possession of both property used in connection with a crime and proceeds of crime.

Volkov was the main target of the joint operation that closed down a syndicate that allegedly trafficked ice, cocaine, MDMA and other drugs across southeast Queensland.

He is currently at the Arthur Gorrie Correctional Centre.

"Ice is an extremely dangerous drug, which does immeasurable damage to our community," CCC acting executive director of crime Michael Scott said.

Just days after Volkov's arrest, the watchdog was granted a Supreme Court order to seize property and bank accounts valued at $605,720.

The alleged proceeds of crime included gold, motor vehicles and jewellery.

Volkov is facing a maximum penalty of 25 years in jail for his drug offences due to Queensland's anti-gang legislation, which sets out harsher punishments for accused criminal gang members.

He will reappear in court on September 29.
