Qld ambulance thief in custody

A patient who stole an ambulance on the way to a Queensland hospital then crashed it into a bus stop is receiving treatment under police guard.

Paramedics were treating the woman for a head injury on Friday afternoon when she assaulted them and stole their vehicle on the Sunshine Coast.

After driving dangerously through several suburban streets, the woman crashed the ambulance into a bus stop.

No one was seriously injured as a result of the incident and the patient is custody.
