Qld ABC's Spencer Howson quits breakfast

Brisbane ABC presenter Spencer Howson is stepping down from his Breakfast program after 11 years.

Howson, who will stay with 612, told listeners on Thursday he wanted to leave before he "outstayed my welcome".

"Whether it's in a year or in five years or 10 years, at some point people will say he's been doing it too long," he said.

It's another shake-up for radio in Brisbane after Robin Bailey was axed from 97.3's breakfast show.

Bianca Dye will reportedly join Bailey's co-hosts in 2017.
