Police hope a $250,000 reward will unearth the killer of a woman whose bones were found in a bag at the base of Brisbane's Kangaroo Point cliffs.

A member of the public found the remains of 36-year-old murder victim Constance Watcho in September, almost 10 months after she was last seen at Kangaroo Point.

"It's a sad situation - a mother murdered and her remains dumped," Detective Inspector Damien Hansen told reporters on Friday.

"The family are appealing and want justice for Connie, and would ask that any person, regardless of how little or insignificant you think the information is, to come forward," he said.

"She was well known in the area but we believe it is a small circle (of people who) would have knowledge (of the crime)."
