Pregnant passenger sought in cop car ram

A man and heavily pregnant woman are being sought by Queensland police after an officer's car was rammed on the Tweed Coast.

Police say the couple was pulled over on Sunday afternoon, and the driver told the officer his passenger was having contractions.

While the officer was calling an ambulance, the driver got back into the vehicle, reversed into the front of the highway patrol car, then took off.

Police later found the burnt-out car at Hayters Hill Nature Reserve, and say a nearby house was broken into and several items stolen.
