Emergency situation at Qld home ends

A police stand-off at a Gold Coast home is over after a man, reportedly wielding an axe, was taken into custody.

Police were called to an Upper Coomera home just before 12.30pm on Sunday after reports of a disturbance, and negotiated with a man inside the property.

An emergency situation was called off at about 7pm, and a man is being questioned.

Various media reports say the man surrendered, but after allegedly smashing up the house with an axe and threatening to blow it up.
