Man dies in suspicious Qld blaze

A man has died in a suspicious fire at a unit north of Brisbane.

The Woody Point property is now a crime scene as detectives try to work out what caused the blaze.

Firefighters found the second-floor unit fully alight when they arrived about 6.30am on Tuesday.

"On arrival we located a unit that was fully involved, front to back, floor to ceiling," Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman Wayne Parry has told the ABC.

"Unfortunately within one-and-a-half minutes of primary search a person was located deceased."

Fire investigators have been working at the scene.

Police Inspector Craig White said it was a terrible tragedy that had also displaced occupants of neighbouring units.
