Police divers join Qld murder probe

Police divers are scouring a central Queensland river as part of investigations into the murder of a 33-year-old man.

Syeid Alam's remains were found beside a creek running off Rockhampton's Fitzroy River on April 16, 10 days after he was last seen leaving a local house.

Several of his personal items were found at a nearby boat ramp three days after the grizzly discovery.

Police Dive Squad officers began searching the Fitzroy River on Wednesday, particularly around the boat ramp.

Investigators are treating Mr Alam's death as a homicide following a post-mortem.
