Police car hits boy on the Gold Coast

An eight-year-old boy has been hit by an unmarked police car on a the Gold Coast.
The boy suffered a suspected broken ankle and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police say the boy ran in front of the unmarked police car while officers were carrying out patrols on Bridgewater Drive at Varsity Lakes about 3pm (AEST).
