Pedestrian critically injured in Brisbane

A woman is fighting for life after she was hit by a car while trying to cross a road on Brisbane's southside.

The 42-year-old was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with critical injuries after she was struck on Algester Road at Algester about 1pm on Wednesday.

The driver, a 41-year-old woman, was taken to the same hospital for observation, police say.
