Pedestrian critical after Townsville crash

A pedestrian is fighting for his life after being hit by a car while running across a street in Townsville.

Police say the 53-year-old was crossing Flinders Street early on Sunday when he was struck by a car, he remains in a critical but stable condition in Townsville hospital.

The 68-year old driver is being questioned by police.
