Clive Palmer's nephew is still overseas and is yet to be served with a summons to face court over the collapse of Queensland Nickel.

Liquidators want to question the former federal MP's nephew, Clive Mensink, about his role in managing the company before it collapsed with the loss of almost 800 jobs and debts of about $300 million.

In the Federal court on Wednesday, lawyers for special purpose liquidators working to claw back about $70 million in federal funds paid to axed workers said Mr Mensink remained somewhere overseas, and was yet to be served with a summons.
