Pair charged over Brisbane chase

Two men have been accused of driving at speed towards a police car, sparking a chase in Brisbane's north.

The drama unfolded after officers were called to a property at Dayboro on Sunday night.

When they arrived, the duo's car allegedly sped towards them before swerving away and speeding off.

A police helicopter was deployed to help find them, along with their female passenger, and a tyre-deflating device was successfully used to slow them down.

But the car, by now being driven on its rims, kept going.

It was finally stopped on the wrong side of Gympie Road, in Strathpine.

A 20-year-old Burpengary man has been charged with multiple driving offences as well as seriously assaulting police.

An 18-year-old Dayboro man is also charged with assaulting police, while a 30-year-old Kippa Ring woman is helping officers with their inquiries.

With investigations ongoing, police say they have also found two stolen cars at the Dayboro address.
