Organ retrieval strands Qld's premier

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has been delayed in her return from a week-long trip to central Queensland because her plane was re-tasked for an urgent organ delivery.

The Queensland government Air Wing usually gives the premier first priority except in cases of emergency, such as when donor organs need to be quickly ferried across the state.

The Brisbane Times website reports such an incident occurred on Friday, forcing Ms Palaszczuk, who was due to fly back to Brisbane from Gladstone, to book a commercial flight instead.

She returned with enough time to prepare for her meeting with Phillip Strachan over his report into the Queensland Rail rostering bungle, due to be released publicly on Monday.
