The Queensland government needs to restore business confidence by announcing which tenderer has won the right to the Queen's Wharf redevelopment in Brisbane, the opposition says.

The $6 billion riverside project, which will generate 10,000 jobs over a decade, was "only a signature away from approval" under the Newman government, Liberal National Party leader Lawrence Springborg says.

"We need this government now to give some confidence to business, some confidence for jobs in Queensland," he said on Thursday.
