Nth Qld abduction attempt sparks warning

Parents of students at a north Queensland school have been warned to teach their children about stranger danger after an attempted abduction.

A nine-year-old boy had just left Townsville's Willows State School on Thursday afternoon when two men pulled up beside him in a white 1990s model Mazda and one told him to "get in".

The boy ran to a nearby house and alerted police, who will release images of the men on Monday.

The school's principal has written to parents urging them to ensure children who walk or ride to school do so with friends and family when possible.
