NSW man extradited to Qld over kidnapping

A 50-year-old man from NSW has been extradited to Queensland to face kidnapping, deprivation of liberty and assault charges.

Police allege he took a woman from Darra in Brisbane's south about 5pm on Monday and held her against her will until about 1.30pm on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old was allegedly driven to several locations where she was assaulted and threatened with violence.

The 50-year-old man from San Remo was located in the northern NSW town of Grafton on Tuesday.

After facing Grafton Local Court he was extradited to Queensland on Wednesday where he was charged with a string of offences, including deprivation of liberty, kidnapping, common assault and attempted robbery threatening violence.

He will front the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
