A prominent Brisbane nightclub lobbyist has briefly faced court after allegedly being caught with cocaine in the city's entertainment district.

Nick Braban was last month charged with possessing a dangerous drug while in Chinatown in the Fortitude Valley.

The 33-year-old did not comment to media as he left Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday and had his case adjourned to September 4.

As chairman of the Valley Liquor Accord, Braban led the charge against the Palaszczuk government's lockout laws.
