Murder charge after GC hospital assault

A man has been charged with murdering another man who was attacked at a Gold Coast hospital.

Police say the 53-year-old victim and a 38-year-old man became involved in a fight on Friday morning while both were attending the Gold Coast University Hospital.

The men were not known to one another.

The 53-year-old suffered critical head injuries and died in hospital on Sunday.

His accused attacker will face Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday charged with murder.
