Mt Isa man charged with maiming woman

A man has been charged with maiming a woman by allegedly pouring boiling water on her in Mt Isa.

The woman, 31, suffered serious burns and was treated at Mt Isa Hospital.

A man, 44, will appear in Mt Isa Magistrates Court on Monday, charged with acts intended to maim or disfigure.

He is accused of twice pouring boiling water on the woman on Friday night, then refusing to call or allow her to seek medical treatment.
