MP Ian Rickuss announces retirement

Queensland MP Ian Rickuss has announced he will retire to spend more time with his family.

The LNP member for Lockyer said on Friday that he will not stand at the next election.

He narrowly retained his seat last year, beating One Nation leader Pauline Hanson by around 100 votes.

Opposition leader Tim Nicholls said Mr Rickuss had worked hard for the people of Lockyer, a community he loved.

"My most vivid memories of Ian and his wife Ann are of their tremendous work following the 2011 floods," he said.
