Missing Qld baby found safe in NSW

A missing newborn baby girl has been found safe and well in NSW, after she was taken from a Gold Coast hospital.

Police on Friday evening issued an Amber alert seeking urgent public assistance to locate the newborn, who was seen leaving the Gold Coast University Hospital with a man, a woman and an eight-year-old girl.

The woman seen taking the baby was believed to be the mother, but Queensland police fear the infant was at "significant risk", disappearing just hours after she was born.

Early on Saturday morning police said the baby girl had been found safe and well in Tweed Heads.
