Missing man found in Brisbane River

Water police have found the body of a man who went missing in the Brisbane River.

Amateur bodybuilder Ben Reddich, 21, disappeared on Sunday while trying to retrieve a ball that had been lost in the water.

Mr Reddich was with a group of friends in Kookaburra Park at Karana Downs, southwest of Brisbane, when he was seen going under the water but he failed to resurface.

Police and water rescue crews confirmed on Tuesday that they located his body just after 11am, around one nautical mile from where he disappeared.

His family has been notified.
