Missing man found at north Qld beach

A man who has been missing for two weeks has been found sunburnt and dehydrated at a beach near Cairns.

Garry Amey, 60, was found on Sunday at Wangetti Beach which is about 20km north of where he went missing on October 11.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman told AAP they have no idea where the man has been as officers are yet to speak to him as he is undergoing treatment at the Cairns Base Hospital for sunburn and dehydration.

Earlier this month police made a public appeal for information about Mr Amey's whereabouts, saying they had grave concerns for his welfare after he failed to return home from a walk along Kewarra Beach.
