Miller facing mounting pressure to resign

Pressure is mounting on rogue Queensland backbencher Jo-Ann Miller to resign from the Labor Party over her comparison of her own government to the corrupt practices of the Bjelke-Petersen era.

Rockhampton's Park Avenue branch has formally called on the Bundamba MP to "relinquish her endorsement" after she accused Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and cabinet ministers of ignoring corruption allegations relating to former Ipswich mayor Paul Pisasale.

Branch spokesman Dan Coxon said a letter calling on other branches to pass similar motions was sent to the party's state executive for distribution.

A party spokesperson said the motion would be considered by senior officials.
