Man charged in Qld after shots fired

A man suspected of firing shots inside a Queensland house has been charged with causing wilful damage and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The 25-year-old had been on the run since Friday afternoon, when officers swooped on a Kallangur home after reports of gunshots inside.

They stormed the home and found a weapon, believed to be a shotgun, and significant property damage, but no one inside.

Police say they found the man on Saturday morning and that he surrendered without incident.

Charges were laid late on Saturday afternoon.

The man is expected to appear at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on January 11.
